Hello, and welcome to Visual Kei of the Day! In this community we share songs from visual kei musicians (except for when we don't).

Optional posting template:

As long as you include all the same information, the format doesn't matter.

Ongoing:
Challenge #1: 2025 in Review - Share "the" song of your 2025, whatever that means for you.
Introduce Yourself 🌹 - Meet new people, make new friends.
Whateverly Personalized Reccs - Reply with the music you already like, and someone might introduce you to your next favorite thing.

Rules:

  1. Songs must be from visual kei acts unless there's a special event going on.

  2. No individual user can post an entry to the community more than once per 24 hours.

  3. There is no rule for how many reccs can be in one entry. Do not make me add one. If you're going to have more than one large embed (like a video), please only show one and put the rest below a cut.

  4. Please warn for commonly upsetting content and flashing lights without censoring your words. If you also want to warn for less-commonly upsetting content, that's your prerogative. Here's some of the most commonly warned-for things, in case you know nothing about this topic. Due to the nature of visual kei I'm disinclined to be strict about this, but if it would earn gasps in theaters, please do the sensitive souls in the audience a favor.
    • If you don't want to warn for anything but you know it could be upsetting, at least say "discretion advised," or something like that.

  5. Tag subgenre and sound if you can, but you don't have to if you're not sure. In this community, all members can add (but not delete) tags on all entries! This way you cannot accuse me of abusing my mod powers to have bands tagged as only what I think they should be called. I will only delete tags if I seriously think someone is trolling or if the community overwhelmingly agrees a tag needs to be removed. If there's extensive arguments about this sort of thing, I won't ban anyone, but I will sigh really really loudly about it. (I encourage noobs to check out vkgy and go down a rabbit hole.)
    • When posting non-visual acts, which is allowed during certain events, do not add any subgenre tags. Add the sound if possible, and non-visual.

  6. You must age restrict videos that show sexually explicit content. Restricting other content is up to you.

  7. Don't hardcode fancy colors, sizes, or fonts in your entries.

  8. Don't be rude, intimidating, bigoted, etc. Behind every entry is a real person -- behind every song and video, too.

  9. Act like an adult even if you aren't one. De-escalate/avoid heated conversations and don't assume the worst of others.

  10. Do not make me have to ban you (bannable offense).

  11. If your recc gets 3 or more thumbs-down emojis in the comments, you get banned That's not true, but wouldn't it be funny?

Reminders:

  1. ONLY post entries that contain at least one song and are about that/those song/s. This is not a community for general discussion. Music only.

  2. But even so, commenting is highly encouraged! This is a community, not a repository.
    • If comments are no longer about the linked song or video, consider taking your conversation to private messages or etc.

  3. This community is for ages 13+. However, you're free to restrict entries to users who are 18+ for whatever reason you want.

  4. You can even make posts members-only if you love a little casual gatekeeping.

  5. I'm 100% open to affiliating with hypothetical general vkei comms, (J-)music comms, alternative fashion comms, etc. (*trying to speak them into existence*)

  6. This is how to embed videos/audio, hide part of an entry behind a cut, mute users, and blacklist words.

  7. Contact [personal profile] elyusion if you have further questions/concerns/comments! This is my first time modding a community of people I don't know. Sorry for any mistakes I may make.
